Spoiler: It’s Giving 5/5 Tail Wags

So we received our latest haul from Homes Alive. I went a bit overboard stocking up on treats for the 4-legged taste testers over here (4 x 3 = 12 legs – that’s a lot of legs!). Included in the order were two bags from a brand I hadn’t tried before: Wild Bites—the Bacon Thins and the Freeze-Dried Venison Heart.

Now, I don’t want to exaggerate or anything, but holy cow.

These were a MAJOR hit.

We’re talking full-body tail wags, immediate sit-without-being-asked energy, and that look of “NEED. MORE. NOW.” before they even finished chewing.

Let’s break it down.

🥓 Wild Bites Bacon Thins

What it is:

Thin, crisp slices of lean pork loin – that’s it. No grains, no fillers, no unnecessary nonsense. These treats are dehydrated into lightweight, bacon-y crisps that smell like the real deal because… they are.

What I love:

  • Single ingredient – Just pork. Nothing else. No mystery, no drama.
  • Crunch factor – These break up easily into training-sized bits, but still have a satisfying snap.
  • Grease-free – These don’t leave your hands (or treat pouch) feeling gross.

How they were received:

Instant fan club. Zero hesitation. 14/10 would inhale again.

🦌 Wild Bites Freeze-Dried Venison Heart

What it is:

Single-ingredient freeze-dried chunks of venison heart. They’re light, super high in protein, and rich in nutrients like iron and B vitamins. Basically, a treat that makes you feel like you’re doing something good for your dog while also completely spoiling them. Bonus point – they are easy to chew for pups that may have any dental issues.

What I love:

  • Hypoallergenic – Great option for dogs with protein sensitivities
  • High-value – This is the kind of treat for extra-special spoiling time. Also perfect for snuffle mats!
  • Minimal crumbs – Some freeze-dried treats are a crumbly mess – these held up well.

How they were received:

Eyes dilated. Treat devoured. Immediate eye contact for more. Enough said. One of the pups did something very bizarre when I gave her one. She just stared at it for a while and then flopped over to roll over it – I have no idea what this means, but I take it as a good sign.

Final Verdict: BORK ✅

Wild Bites? Total bork-worthy moment. These treats hit every mark: clean ingredients, great texture, cute packaging (it matters, ok?), Canadian AND female founded. Whether you’re dealing with a picky eater, a sensitive stomach, or just a dog who knows the difference between meh and amazing—these are worth the cart space.

🏆 BorkBites Rating:

✔ Ingredient Quality: 5/5

✔ Taste Test Reaction: 5/5

✔ Value for the Price: 4.5/5

✔ Rebuy Worthiness: 200%

I’d absolutely buy these again—and may or may not already have more in my cart.
